Discover the benefits of the new Meta feature in social media news! Learn how Meta Verified's new business tiers can elevate your brand.

Meta has announced several key updates to its Meta Verified subscription service, introducing new tiers specifically designed for businesses while enhancing offerings for individual creators. This expansion represents Meta’s continued push to diversify revenue streams beyond advertising as it seeks to monetize verification and premium features across its platforms.

The most significant change is the introduction of Meta Verified for Business, which will offer varying subscription options depending on business size and needs. According to Meta’s announcement, the new business verification program will begin testing this week with select businesses on Instagram and Facebook in select markets before a wider rollout.

Meta detailed that the business verification program will include multiple subscription tiers with different features and price points. Small businesses will have access to an entry-level tier priced at $21.99 per month per Facebook page or Instagram account, or $34.99 for both. For businesses wanting to verify multiple accounts, Meta will offer a “Business Bundle” option costing $200 per month for up to six profiles, meaning an average cost of approximately $33 per account.

The company emphasized that verification will provide businesses with enhanced visibility and reach. As Meta explained: “Businesses can expect to see heightened visibility and reach with a verified badge, along with added impersonation protections and access to dedicated support channels. These features should contribute to overall account performance and growth, while making it easier for users to identify and interact with authentic business accounts on Meta’s platforms.”

In addition to the business-focused offerings, Meta is also updating the individual Meta Verified subscription by adding more features. Currently priced at $11.99 per month on the web or $14.99 via mobile app stores, the individual subscription will now include expanded reach for Reels, Stories, and image posts. These enhancements are designed to give creators more exposure for their content, potentially increasing their audience and engagement.

While Meta hasn’t provided specific metrics on how many users and businesses have subscribed to Meta Verified since its launch in February, the expansion suggests the company sees potential in this revenue stream. The verification program follows industry trends, with other platforms like Twitter (now X) and Snapchat also offering subscription-based verification services.

This move aligns with Meta’s broader strategy to reduce its dependence on advertising revenue, particularly in light of changes to data tracking capabilities that have impacted its ad business. By creating premium tiers with added benefits, Meta is attempting to establish direct revenue relationships with both creators and businesses using its platforms.

For businesses considering these new verification options, Meta’s offering presents potential advantages in terms of customer trust and account security. The verified badge may help distinguish legitimate business accounts from potential scammers, while access to dedicated support could prove valuable for account management issues.

The rollout of business verification comes at a time when Meta continues to face challenges in its advertising business due to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency changes and increasing competition from platforms like TikTok. By expanding its subscription offerings, Meta appears to be exploring alternative revenue streams while also potentially improving the overall quality of business interactions on its platforms.

As the verification program expands globally in the coming months, businesses and creators will need to evaluate whether the subscription costs justify the promised benefits of increased visibility, support access, and account protection. For Meta, the success of these new tiers will likely depend on whether users perceive tangible value in the enhanced features that come with verification status.
